DR ANAND GUNDABAWADY

Dr Anand Gundabawady is a general adult psychiatrist. He completed his Psychiatry training in Oxford, UK, where he gained his Membership of the Royal College of psychiatrists (MRCPsych). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). He has done a Masters of Medicine in Pain Management from Sydney University.
Prior to starting in private practice Dr Gundabawady worked at The Townsville General Hospital. He is currently the Clinical Director of the Trauma Recovery Centre at the Mater Hospital, Townsville which runs the PTSD Program. He is a member of the General & Composite Medical Assessment Tribunal of the Workers Compensation Regulator, and an approved medical specialist for independent assessments through WorkCover QLD.
Dr Gundabawady has special interests in treating post-traumatic stress disorder, mood and anxiety disorders and treating Military Personnel and Veterans with mental health issues.
DR ASHWINI BALAJISINGH
MBBS, DCH, RACGP
Dr Ashwini Balajisingh is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). She completed her general practice training from Tropical Medical Training in Townsville in 2016. She has done her diploma in child health from University of Sydney.
Dr Balajisingh has worked at the Townsville General Hospital as well as general practice clinics, before joining us at TIHCP.
She has a special interest in women’s health, mental health and chronic disease management.
DR ASHA SADASHIVAN
MBBS, MRCPsych, FRANZCP, Assistant Professor BOND Uni.
Dr Asha Sadasivan is a general adult Psychiatrist with training in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Her practice covers various psychiatric disorders with particular focus on mood disorders, women’s mental health, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and post traumatic disorders.
Other areas of interest include assessments under WorkCover and recovery from dysfunctional workplaces.
Julia has 10 years’ experience working across a variety of settings including hospital, aged care, private practice and community health. Julia is a “generalist physiotherapist” with a strong focus on considering and managing all elements of a patient’s health in order to provide holistic care. Julia draws on her broad background and skills to provide each patient with individualised injury management and rehabilitation through manual therapy, dry needling, exercise prescription, advice and ongoing referral as required.
Julia has a particular interest and skillset in cardiac patients from managing a cardiac rehabilitation outpatient program for 3 years. She is also skilled in exercise prescription, particularly for patients with chronic diseases and complex disabilities.
In her spare time, Julia enjoys cycling, running and multisport events and is always keen to try new outdoor pursuits.

Luke is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and has worked as a registered psychologist for 15 years in settings including correctional centres, employment services, drug and alcohol services, court programs, as well as program development, team leader and management roles in Government. He has worked in private practice for 9 years (previously with psychiatrist Dr John Rogers) before starting with us at TIHCP.
He has special interests in the Australian Defence Force as well as chronic health issues. Over the years, Luke has given presentations on motivation and managing the psychological side of Type 1 diabetes and he is also the Townsville facilitator of the Crohns and Colitis Australia Support Group.
Luke provides a holistic, client-centred approach encompassing cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing for behaviour change, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) as well as mindfulness.
Bianca graduated from James Cook University (Townsville) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honours. For the past nine years, Bianca has specialised in Occupational Rehabilitation within both the public and the private sectors, and has worked with a diverse range of clients with physical and/or psychological injuries.
Bianca is highly skilled in the delivery of injury prevention and management services, including rehabilitation case management, workplace assessments, and the development of suitable duties and return to work programs. Bianca also provides a range of assessment services, including functional capacity evaluations, pre-employment screens, and activities of daily living assessments.
